I grew up with the rumor that Americans did not use pennies.
They threw them away, and all you had to do was collect them off the streets, and you would have extra money.
Thus, the sign behind him on the wall reads "A-merry-ca".
The anxiety on his face is well founded.
His future is uncertain, and hunger is no laughing matter.
